Anthony Scalzo, 64, passed away on Wednesday, March, 29, 2023. He was a caring son who took care of his mother for many years. He would give you the shirt off his back and helped many people along the way in his life. He loved and cherished his girlfriend, Cheryl. He was well loved by his brothers and one sister.
Anthony was a volunteer fireman (Badge #630) for the Atlantic Company in Long Branch for 37 years. He was hazmat trained. He was the owner/operator of his own taxi service.
Anthony played basketball in the Headliners League – starting 5. “Homeboy could play basketball.” He played with his good friend, Patrick King, from the Long Branch Police Department. He was an “all-around” guy who loved sports, Notre Dame being his favorite college team. He was religious and read the Bible every day
