Beverly Ellinwood, a long time resident of the Baltimore area, died Wednesday, December 26, 2015 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown. She was born in 1936 in Newton, MA. Beverly received her bachelor’s degree from Randolph Macon Women’s College in 1959. She continued her education by earning a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Her passion, for the majority of her career, was working as an Elementary School Principal in a bilingual school in East Baltimore City. The friendships she developed at School #228 gave her incredible joy and lasted her lifetime. She loved traveling and exploring with her ward George Tamaris and his brother Andy. Bev enjoyed singing as a paid soloist, camping, auctions, buying and selling antiques, genealogy research and annual trips to Rockland, Maine. Upon retiring, she became a certified auctioneer. She was always on the go, willing to drive anywhere, quick to laugh and quite inventive with her excuses for creative driving.
She was the devoted mother of Robin Ellinwood, Sharon Ellinwood and Deborah Zimmerman (m. Patrick). She was the grandmother of Andrew Zimmerman and Christina Zimmerman and the great-grandmother of Daxton Zimmerman. She is survived by her loving brother, Brian Keith Walker (m. Kathleen) and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Andrew Walker and Nathalie Louise Walker.
The family will receive friends at the LEMMON FUNERAL HOME, 10 W. Padonia Road, Timonium, MD 21093 on Saturday, January 2 from 10AM to 12PM. Following the reception, a graveside service will be held at the DULANEY VALLEY MEMORIAL GARDENS at 12PM on Saturday, January 2, 2015.
