Alverta "Birdie" Louise Freeland, age 88, of York, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022; beloved longtime friend of Connie Dittmar and her son Charles Allen; cherished wife of the late George Calvin Freeland; devoted mother of the late Patricia Grogg and her late husband John and Judy Wade and her surviving husband Gary; dear grandmother of John Grogg, Jr. and his wife Deborah, Kimberly Carter and her husband Dave, Angela Dintaman and her husband Stephen and Matthew Wade and his significant other Amanda Ridgeway; loving great-grandmother of Wesley Grogg, Megan Carter, Logan Dintaman, Emily Dintaman and Chase Dintaman, and Hadlee Wade.
A graveside service for Alverta will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, 200 E. Padonia Rd., Timonium, MD 21093.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
