On December 17, 2020, the Katoa family lost an important member of their family to a sudden heart attack. Viliami Paane Katoa, known also as Opama, suffered a sudden heart attack in the middle of the night in his home.
Viliami Katoa was born in the Kingdom of Tonga and migrated to the United States in the 90’s. He is survived by his wife, Keta Katoa and his four children; Lesieli Katoa, Kalolaine Katoa, Tevita Fuao Katoa, and Timote Delusi Katoa. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren under the age of 5.
Many will describe Viliami to have been a man of God, a hardworking man, and most importantly a family man. He was involved in the Tongan community here in Portland, OR and always lent a helping hand wherever he could. His contagious smile, kind and loving spirit will be missed greatly by all those who know him.
A viewing and service will be held early in the morning on December 23, 2020 at Young’s funeral home in Tigard. Then he will be laid to rest at Crescent Grove Cemetery later in the afternoon. He will be missed greatly by all those who knew him.
