Stanley Robert Kelley , Colonel (ret) US Army Corps of Engineers, born in Portland, Or, to Alice H & Sanford R Kelley. He attended Fernwood School, Grant High School, Oregon State University & Texas A&M. He had a long and varied military career, including Division Engineer of the 96th Infantry Division & Commanding Officer of the 321st Engineer Battalion participating in the Leyte & Okinawa assault landing ops during WWII, senior advisor to the Korean Army Engineer School, Chief of the Construction Division of the US Army Construction Agency, France and as Supervisory Civil Engineer for the NATO Air Defense Ground Environment Management Office in Paris and Brussels. Stan enjoyed flying his Cessna 182 . He married Dolores (Dee) Delong in 1945,is survived by four children, Brian, Chris (Dick), Kevin and Brad (Marina), five grandchildren & eight great grandchildren. Dee and Stan divorced, and he married Dorothy Sanborn, who predeceased him. He spent his last years with his companion, Margaret Young. Although they had little connection in their last years, Stan and Dee died 10 hours apart. Memorial service March 21st at Lake Grove Presbyterian Church at 1 PM. Arrangements by Young's Funeral Home.
