Robert Michael Masters

Bob Masters, beloved husband, father, brother, coach and friend, passed away unexpectedly August 28, 2021. Born February 13, 1952 in Edison, New Jersey to Justina Howansky and Robert Masters, Bob was raised in New Jersey until moving to Mount Morris, Illinois and graduating from high school. Bob easily made friends everywhere he went, establishing lifelong friends both in high school and in college. It was at Northern Arizona University where he finished his education with a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing.

Beginning his business career in Des Moines, Iowa for Select Magazines, he met the love of his life, Marilyn Freeman, whom he married in 1978 and started a family with soon thereafter. He continued working in magazine sales and marketing after transferring to Portland, Oregon; adding Hearst Corporation and ultimately Crossmark to his career portfolio.

Those who were acquainted with Bob knew of his love of all sports and especially his love for baseball. He loved coaching both of his children’s Little League teams, Junior Baseball and ASA Softball. Many great memories and friends were made during these special tournament trips over the years.

Bob leaves behind wife Marilyn, son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Tamara, daughter Meredith, siblings Richard, Michael, Linda and Christine with brother-in-law, Tony, as well many nieces and nephews.
