Nazih Awad was born on December 23, 1929. He grew up with 4 siblings in a loving home in Palestine. Growing up, he worked several jobs to help support his family. In 1952, he moved to Saudi Arabia to work for ARAMCO as an oil dispatcher. He spent his spare time playing tennis and developing his film in his darkroom at home. In 1956, he moved to Kuwait to work for the Ministry of Health. Nazih was married in 1959 to his wife Widad Stephan. Together they raised 4 children, Nassim, Hala, Jumana, and Majid before immigrating to Oregon in 1994. After retirement he spent his time swimming, gardening as well as caring for his canary Kookoo. He also enjoyed spending time with his cousins where they used to go shopping and play cards.
Nazih will be missed by so many people old and young. He was known for his kind heart and cheerful spirit. He loved life.
He was surrounded by his loving family when he peacefully passed on March 1, 2022.
