Mary Ann Woloschuk age 75, passed away March 14th at the Marquis Assisted Living facility in Wilsonville after a long illness. She was proceeded in death by her parents Mary and Daniel Woloschuk, Sr and her brother Daniel, Jr.
She is survived by her niece Andrea Anna Woloschuk, Berkeley, CA, Andrea's children Porter and Rose Hurd and her nephew Nicholas Paul Woloschuk, Brooklyn, N.Y.
Though she never married or had children of her own, she was an attentive and loving daughter, sister and aunt, who will be forever, lovingly remembered as "Auntie Mar" (pronounce mare).
Mary Ann was born on April 5, 1943 in Scranton, Penn and lived there until the mid '60's when she moved to San Jose, CA to stay with her Aunt Olga and Uncle Joe. it was there she began her long career working for Tech companies; Fairchild Systems Technology, in San Jose,and later when she moved to Oregon in the '70's,Tektronics. She was a highly trained and efficient Purchasing Agent. For the last few years, before retirement, she worked for the State of Oregon OED in Tualatin. She found great satisfaction helping the public in her capacity as an Employment Specialist.
Over the years she made many close friends with whom she shared her happiest times. She enjoyed music, often traveling far and wide to attend the concerts of her favorite performers. Her greatest joy came when she was camping with friends especially at the Oregon coast or occasionally trying her luck at the casinos.
Proud of her Ukrainian heritage, Mary Ann happily taught her niece how to prepare traditional dishes, recipes handed down through the generations. She especially enjoyed the holidays and family dinners on which occasions she regaled everyone with her quick wit. She had a great sense of humor, often coming up with delightful and unexpected comments prompting spontaneous outbursts of laughter by all.
A lifelong Roman Catholic, for decades Mary Ann was a faithful parishioner of St. Anthony's in Tigard, where she served as a Homebound Eucharist Minister until she became ill and moved to Wilsonville. She will be remembered during the 11:00 a.m. mass at St. Anthony's on April 7th.
This July, Mary Ann will be laid to rest near her parents at St. Anthony's cemetery, as her extended family gathers to mourn their loss and celebrate her life.
