Clarence Standridge

Born on October 7, 1927 in a farmhouse in Centralhoma, Oklahoma, Clancy was raised by his Grandparents. During his childhood he and his family moved to Wenatchee, Washington, where he graduated from Wenatchee High School. It was here he met the love of his life Marie Rachael Milbrath. They married in 1952 and were together almost 60 years.

Clancy defended his country by serving in the Army during the Korean War and earned his "Three Stripes".

When he returned, he began a long and successful career with GTE. Starting as a lineman he was subsequently promoted to the position of Line Crew Manager and traveled extensively throughout the sates of Montana, Idaho and Eastern Washington.

Eventually he attained the prominent position of Governmental Affairs Director lobbying on behalf of the telecommunications interests in Washington, D.C. He retired after 45 years of faithful service. Not able to fully retire, Clancy worked for several wonderful years as the chief of Staff for his dear friend, Cecil Andrus, then the Governor of Idaho.

He dearly loved to garden, taking great pride year after year, in his ability to grow the largest and sweetest vegetables in the neighborhood.. He also loved to travel and enjoyed his favorite card game, Black Jack, at the local area casinos.

Clancy was a wonderful man who will be dearly missed by everyone soul lucky enough to have made his acquaintance or become his friend.

He is survived by his Wife Marie, Daughter Susan Keller (Greg), Son Sam Standridge, and Granddaughter Heather Keller.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in honor of Clancy to the Oregon Humane Society.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Young's Funeral Home; Tigard, Oregon.
