Verna was born March 27,1936 in Longmont, Colorado to Oliff and Marguerite Colclasure. She was a Colorado native, growing
up in Boulder and Denver. Verna and her little brother, Chuck, worked at the open air fruit and vegetable market on 10th and
Wadsworth at an early age. She went on to work at various retail shops. Verna owned a shop called "Stuff and Things" in Westminster where she loved selling the wonderful crafts she made.
Verna married Louis "Hank" Henkenberns on August 10,1952. They had four children, Anthony, Victoria, Ronald, and Sharon. She
was a busy Air Force wife and mother.
In the eighties, Verna became active in square dancing and clogging with her significant other, Roy Lawson. She was a member of
the "Orphan Squares and Colorado Country Cloggers." Verna traveled to many of the national conventions from Hawaii to Nashville.
Verna will be missed for her kindness, wonderful smiles and great hugs!!
Verna is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband
Louis "Hank" Henkenberns and her significant other, Roy Lawson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Solana Unit at Bear Creek Care Center, 150 Spring St, Morrison, Co. 80465.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2015, 10:00 am at Olinger Highland Mortuary, 10201 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado. A reception will be offered at the Highland Reception Center at Highland Mortuary after interment.
