Shirley Ann (Dotson) Smith-Kosters, born February 9, 1937, joined her parents in heaven January 3, 2012. Shirley was a loving mother, wife and an all-around great person. She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, John J. Kosters, one brother Donald (Twylah) Dotson and seven children: Jeffrey (Carla) Smith, Juline Smith (Frank) Vita, Joel Smith, Denise Kosters (Ron) VanderPloeg, Michael J. (Caron) Kosters, Kevin J. (Ashley) Kosters, and Kimberly Kosters (Tim) Bylsma. Shirley was blessed with ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister preceded Shirley in death: Verl Dotson, Robert Dotson, and Naomi Dotson. Her Pentecostal preacher father, Curtis Dotson, and dedicated homemaker mother, Della Dotson, taught Shirley to love the Lord and the teachings of the Bible. After retiring from 38 years in real estate, she co-taught a Bible study class for retired women at Crossings Church of the Nazarene. She continued to disciple many in their relationship with the Lord. Family and friends were blessed by Shirley’s exuberance for life, her unconditional love, and her fervent faith and love of God. Visitation will be January 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. followed by memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Crossings Church of the Nazarene, 3501 W. 104th Avenue, Westminster, Colorado 80031. Internment will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Broomfield Commons Cemetery, 9th & Sheridan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossings Church of the Nazarene missions fund.
