She married Ronnie Lightfoot in August of 2003. They lived in Thornton, CO until moving to Lochbuie, CO.
Sharon was born and raised in Colorado her entire life, making her a Colorado Native. She graduated from Saint Joseph’s High school in 1966. Sharon started working for Safeway in 1969 in the bakery. After working on night crew for many years, so that she could be at her children’s after school sports and other activities, she was finally able to move to the day shift and was a cashier until she retired in 2004. She was a member of Local 7 where she was a union steward for a little while. She was proud to be a member of the union. She was always at the store picketing when they were on strike, and she never crossed a picket line. Sharon would bring her children along to help picket when they weren’t in school.
After retiring Sharon and Ron would go to the senior center in Brighton, CO for lunch and bingo on Thursday and luncheons at the union hall until she was unable to drive. As her health deteriorated, she was confined to the house until she had a health scare in July of 2024. In August Sharon went to live at a nursing home where she remained until she passed away.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Ronnie Lightfoot, Lochbuie, CO, son Danny (Dawn, Charlie, Braylon, and Kellen) Doughty, Kearney, NE, daughters Gerri (Paul) Hailpern Brighton, CO, Vickie Federico, Thornton, CO, four handsome grandsons, Aaryn, Dominic, Jaxton, and Mason, siblings James (Nancy) Lehnerz, Barbara Bradley, Thomas Lehnerz, Dennis Lehnerz, Therese Silvers, and several nieces and nephews.
