Nate, it has been a very very long time.  My junior high memories have you as a major part of them, which is surprising since we were never really friends, only classmates.  I've thought of you often over the years, and I've wondered how you are getting along.  I guess I was your friend from distance, and you matter very much to me.  I'm so sad to learn you are gone, now that I've found you after all of these years.  Perhaps we can be friends in the next life?  I look forward to catching up one day.

I can see that you are deeply loved by your family, and that is a beautiful thing!  My deepest condolences to them and all of your loved ones.

Nate, I am so very sad over your passing. You left me so many good memories. Do you remember the night we saw the UFO? Or how about when we saw the Queen hornet? I will never, ever forget you, and will dedicate a chapter in my novel to you. Rest in peace, dear brother, and I will see you again.

Nate, words cannot express the gaping hole in my heart. I feel as if a piece of me is forever gone. The bond we had was something nobody else on this world shares. Even though we didn't always agree and fought as siblings do, I knew you where always right. You where my idol. You are my idol. Nobody else I know has a heart more pure than yours. Your willingness to help others, to share your wisdom, to express your thoughts, and to lend a hand when somebody needed help is something I will forever miss.  You were my shoulder to cry on when things in life made no sense.  You were my advice giver in times when I needed some understanding, and most importantly you were my big brother.  You showed me right from wrong and taught me life lessons I will never forget.  You made me smile and laugh every time I saw you.  Always sharing another joke, song, punch-line or just something you came up with.  It saddens me to think you won't be there when your baby sister graduates High School and shows you how all your wisdom you bestowed upon me was put to use.  Then again I think, you are with me, you will be watching me graduate and you will watch me always. You will keep helping me through life only in a different form.  You are now my guardian angel forever and for always and even though I do not understand why you left this earth, I know you are in a better place.  I know now you are in peace and at rest. There are no words to express how I feel.  My thoughts are just going around in circles these days.  I think of you often, wishing you were still here.  I know you are in a better place, but it doesn't ease the pain.
 
Two of my mail routes will be hard for me every time I'm on them.  I'm always looking for you, hoping I'll see you again, knowing it's not going to be so but I try to be strong and just keep on going.

I wish we could go on another “pursuit of fish” trip or go play a really bad round of golf.  Hopefully they do that stuff in heaven and we can do it all again.  These thoughts and memories always bring a smile to my face.
  
My heart is broken and I know I will never be the same.  There is a Nate-sized hole in my heart that will only be filled when we meet again.

Nate, I remember hanging out with you when you moved from Utah and that it didn't take me long to love you and that you would end up being my nephew. WHERE'S NATE? Everyday we still find ourselves looking at the porch next door expecting to see that warm, friendly smile. It doesn't seem real but his laugh still echos in our heads. It's hard to express in words what kind of friend Nate was to our family. He was always available when we needed him. When you have two perfectionist replacing a rooftop in the middle of the summer, its no surprise it took us 3 weeks (roughly 200 man hours) to get it right. Time after time Nate was working away at the crack of dawn, long before we were even awake. He was also our watchman. We had a false alarm at the house and he came to the rescue, saved Kiara from the blinds blowing in the wind. Like the man that he is, he let Kiara stay with him until 'all was clear' and we came home. Ours days, our lives, our hearts will not be the same. Nate is deeply missed! I am so sorry for your loss and the intense pain you are going through. As kids I remember Nate as caring, sensitive and with a prank up his sleeve! Unfortunately, I never had the chance to know him as an adult but it sounds like he was an amazing  individual and will be dearly missed.
