She met and married the love of her life, Howard Andress at the School for the Deaf and Blind in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They were married February 23, 1952 and had three children. She loved camping and fishing with her family, was an avid reader of romance novels and enjoyed cooking. Christmas was her favorite time of year and over time she amassed a collection of thousands of unique and one of a kind ornaments and decorations. Throughout her life, she loved to travel and explore new places. She always welcomed everyone to spend time and a meal at her table. She spent endless hours loving and caring for each of her grandchildren and in her later years watching her great grandchildren play and grow gave her the most pleasure.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years Howard, her daughter Karen, sons Alan and Derrick and their spouses, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one remaining sister and brother, many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 20th at Olinger Highland Chapel, 10201 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado 80229. A celebration of life to follow at the Margaret W. Carpenter Recreation Center, room C located at 11151 Colorado Boulevard, Thornton, Colorado 80232.
