Lenora was born in Greeley, Nebraska to Dominick and Anna Lee. She attended Grand Island High School and graduated in 1946. She moved to Denver and married William DeJean on June 11, 1949. She was married to Bill when he passed in 1993. She was a homemaker, worked at a dry cleaners, drug store, Aurora Central High School and Costco. She loved growing flowers and volunteered at food kitchens helping to feed the needy and donated blood numerous times during her life. She was a devoted member and helper at St. Therese Catholic Church in Aurora. She loved playing cards but she always said she enjoyed raising her children and helping with the grandchildren most of all. She was a loving mother and grandmother to all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William DeJean and son, Steven DeJean. Also preceded in death by sisters, Lorine Connelly, Florence Overton, and brothers Ormand Lee and Howard Lee. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Findley. She is survived by her children, Ron DeJean (Denise), Annette Lawrenz (Garry), Richard DeJean, and Patricia Wallen (Don). Lenora had eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Special thanks to Rocky Mountain Assisted Living and Optimal Hospice who were loving caregivers to Lee. Mom was a true lover of animals. In lieu of flowers please make online donations to American Humane Society.
Funeral service will be January 16, 2024 at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 11385 Grant Drive, Northglenn, Colorado. Rosary at 10:30, Funeral Mass at 11:00. Reception to follow at the church from 12:00 - 2:00. Burial to follow at Olinger Highlands Cemetery at 10201 Grant St., Thornton, Colorado at 2:30 for those wishing to attend.
