Lance Wilson, of Westminster, Colorado, passed away on February 22, 2022 in Thornton, Colorado. He will always be remembered as full of life, laughter, and love to all who knew him. He was born on December 21, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to Zita and Ben Wilson.
Lance was very much a family man, who centered and grounded his entire family. Married to Shary Krajnik Wilson for 57 years, their deep love for and devotion to one another their entire marriage inspires everyone lucky enough to be a part of their community. Lance was forever loyal to his Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs, and thoroughly enjoyed any and all gatherings large and small that brought people together to share stories. Good food, interesting travel, and a nice round of golf brought him joy. Lance worked for Bostitch and Bostitch Stanley for 30 years, rising to Vice President for Sales in his last years before retirement. He will be remembered sitting in his big chair and raising a toast, surrounded by his noisy children and grandchildren.
Lance is survived by his wife Shary Wilson of Westminster, Colorado, his sister Jennifer Wilson Owens of Lake Villa, Illinois, his daughter Susan Wilson Ruyle of Adams, Nebraska, his son Jeff Wilson of Denver, Colorado, and his daughter Nicole Wilson Denner of DeLand, Florida; his grandchildren Isaac, Sidney, Grace, Meredith, Alexandra, Jonathon, and Benjamin. He was preceded in death by his parents Zita and Ben Wilson, and his brother Rodric Wilson.
The memorial mass will be held from 10-11 o’clock on March 17, 2022 at Saint Mark Catholic Church 3141 W 96th Ave, Westminster, CO 80031. Inurnment will follow at Ft. Logan Cemetery 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of his granddaughter Grace, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, linked here: JDRF, or, in honor of his granddaughter Alexandra’s involvement in the Catholic Worker’s Movement, donations can also be made to the Denver Catholic Worker House (linked here), which works to help alleviate homelessness in Denver.
