Jerry K. Luft

After graduating high school at Arvada West in 1977, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed at Annapolis Naval Academy where he became a Hospital Corpsman. He was assigned to the USS Concord Air Sea Rescue unit and served in Vietnam, Panama, Grenada, Iran and Iraq. He was honorably discharged in 1985 with a Good Conduct Medal, the Navy Silver Star.

He returned back home to Colorado and started working for Lutheran Medical Center until 1993. He then joined the Arvada Fire Department and worked there for 30 years until he retired.

He is survived by his children, Dean (Michelle) and Jana; grandchildren, Kent, Evelyn and Brody; the love of his life, Jo, and her children, Cheyenne (Ella), Joleen (Andrew), Chisholm (Angie), Dacota and Kewonee; Jo's grandchildren, Emily, Katelyn, Vincent, Lilith, Nickolus, Martin, Cody, Chisholm Jr., Alexander and Jayden; his mother, Jeanette; his sisters, Jill, Jodi and Pete; as well as many Uncles, Aunts, Nieces and Nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Vernon.

A visitation for Jerry will be held Monday, August 1, 2022 from 10:00am to 12:00pm followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm, at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. Interment will follow at 2:15pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area "C", 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO 80236.
