I have a beautiful memory of being on Jerry’s radio program and then becoming friends with him
and his sweet wife, Rosemary. We all took a day trip together in CO, and they helped me through a rough time in my life. I remember those days vividly, like it was just yesterday. Rosemary was my best friend during that time and prayer partner. True Christians like Jerry and his family are the salt of the earth.  I know I will see Jerry again and look forward to that day in heaven. 

Such good memories being on the radio with Jerry and then friends with him and Rosemary. I was sorry to hear that he had passed away. I look forward to seeing him again when I get to heaven.

Back in 2012, I presented Jerry Bauer, the man I got to call "Dad", with a Father's Day card that I want to share.  I do this because it gives a small snapshot of the godly character of my dad.

Here's what I wrote to him: Dad, here are three ways you are a good example.  1) You model genuine humility.  2) You provide, protect, and selflessly serve your family.  3) You are honest and ethical.  Not all heroes wear capes!"

I stand by what I said at Dad's service: my father was a superhero.

I just heard of Jerry's passing and I would like to send my condolences to his family.  I manage a doctor's office that Jerry came to and he was one of my favorite patients.  Jerry was such a kind man and raved about his family every time I saw him.  I will miss seeing his sweet smile.  My thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.

It is still hard to believe that Jerry's gone from this earth.  He, along with Dan and Gordy was such a big part my afternoon listening.  To this day, i miss "drive time Gospel" that he used to host on weekday afternoons.  I tried never to miss it.

About four years ago, Jerry and Dan were doing the afternoon show on KPOF, and I was listening. I was very depressed and hurt because of something I'd done that was wrong, and satan was beating me up about it. The song "What Sin" played, and by the end, I was on the floor in worship, crying and thanking God for His grace and forgiveness, and for telling me what I needed to do to repair a relationship with a friend. Jerry came on after the song and said, "That song wasn't in our usual play list, but I just felt someone out there needed to hear it." I will never forget that. Jerry is a huge blessing, and his life makes a difference every day.

I was so sorry to hear of your sudden loss. KPOF has been a wonderful addition to my life in recent years and Jerry's joyful and caring presence was a large part of that. My husband also went very suddenly to be with the Lord 2 1/2 years ago, so I am able to empathize with you. God has been so close beside me through all of this process and I know He's with you, also. Don't forget to ask Him for whatever you need. He'll honor each one of your needs, even when you are too sad to even voice them-He knows and loves you so. My prayers are with you all.

Honey, today is our 41st wedding anniversary.  We ate out as a family, in honor of our anniversary on Saturday night.
  
Kevin and Mark are taking good care of me.  So are many others from the family of God, including the AM 91 staff, your listeners, our G2 Bible Study group, our church, and my work Eastside Heating.

You would be so overwhelmed by God's love that is being poured out on us in so many ways.  I can't count all of the cards we received.  Prayers and thoughts of love and monetary love gifts flow freely.  Your service was beautiful.  Rohi Ministries flew their flag at half-mast in honor of your going to Heaven.  I received a Rohi Ministries flag to keep in honor of your being in the ministry for 45 years.

I miss you like crazy.  It's not like we always wanted it to be, to go to Heaven at the same time.  I'm lonely for you.  The world without you is very sad.

At the same, I am so happy for you.  I'm thrilled that you are happy, healthy, and at home in Heaven.  I'm now going to say to you what you used to say to me every Monday morning: I feel like my flesh is being torn away, as we have to separate.  You said this because we had to part after being together for the weekend; I am saying it because we have to part after being together for our lifetime.

Thank you for loving me as Christ loves His Church.  Wait for me by the gate until we meet again, Sweetie.

For me to live is Christ and to die is GAIN. We, and MOST OF ALL, Jerry's Wife and family feel this terrible loss. But Jerry's life has been such a gain for all of us, especially for those of us on the other side of the radio for all these years! I never met Jerry personally but I feel like I've known him my whole life and I cried for hours when hearing of his passing. My deepest sympathies to Jerry's wife and family. I enjoyed hearing Jerry on the afternoon drive and appreciated his gentle sense of humor. I was especially struck by the wonderful songs the staff played in the next couple of days after Jerry passed away: "Pray," by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir; and "If You Could See Me Now." Very touching in light of this sad news.

After listening to AM91.org for several years, I had the privilege to meet Jerry at last years David Phelps concert.  I miss hearing him on the radio. My heart goes out to his wife and children as they grieve.

I am so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing.  He blessed so many lives, including mine, even though we never met in person.  My heart grieves for you, his family and all of his friends and co-workers in the cause of Christ.  My prayer for you 

May the Lord bless and keep you.  May his face shine on you in this time of grief.  May He bring you a peace that passes all understanding until

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

I just now learned of Jerry's passing.  My prayers go out to you, his family, and to all the staff at KWBI.   How much he will be missed!  May God's loving arms enfold you with comfort and peace in all the difficult days and moments ahead.

When we moved back to Colorado in 1992 I found the old KWBI radio station and it became a 'refuge' for me. Jerry was a big part of that feeling. I appreciated so very much his very down home or down on earth but looking to heaven demeanor. I lost track for a while but found KPOF. Again Jerry was  part of my days. I am an internet listener. I am so thankful for this internet outreach to the world beyond the Denver area! I especially loved the prayer time with him because it was so obvious that his relationship with our Savior and Lord was on solid footing. I will certainly miss him in my daily life. God has used him mightedly. I pray for those of you who must go on without him. I pray that your present sorrow and grief will turn into a resolve to serve the Lord in new ways in the days ahead. Jerry Bauer, the man I got to call my father, was a great man.  I have met very few individuals as selfless, altruistic, and giving as him.  I'm amazed that he served his wife, family, coworkers, and friends and he never took the credit for it.  He chose to walk out his life in humility and Christ-likeness.

These are hard days for the Bauer family.  My dad's absence leaves a large void.  I have said to several people that the hope of Heaven is what is sustaining me right now.  What a joy to know that Dad is Heaven with Jesus!

Our condolences to Jerry's family and friends.   I knew Jerry years ago, when his parents attended the same church my family did.  May he rest in peace.........

Jerry's homecoming will leave a huge hole at KPOF.  What a privilege to have become friends with Jerry after the former staff of KWBI joined KPOF.  We will praying for his family and look forward to a reunion in Heaven.

I always enjoyed Jerry introducing Bill Gaither's Homecoming Radio every Saturday night and seeing him at the Southern Gospel concerts here in town. What a genuinely nice guy.
There is no doubt in my mind that he is now enjoying the music in heaven of all our Southern Gospel greats who have gone on ahead. He's waiting there to introduce us to them when we get there!

About 30 years ago when my husband Eliseo Hernandez was presenting the Saturday night Spanish programs on KPOF and I operating the controls, Jerry was on duty at the studio.  We were unable to find someone to watch our 7 or 8 year old twins, so we took them along with books to read.  Now at 38 years of age they still remember the young operator who took the time to give them a tour of the tower and make it a fun adventure.  Thanks Jerry for your care of people old and young.  I hope they will leave his voice on the announcements for at least a while.  It is nice to hear his voice and remember him.  Caroline Hernandez

I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to meet Jerry Bauer at one of the KPOF open houses. It enabled me to put a "face" on the voice I had enjoyed listening to for so long. It's rare that you have the chance to meet a radio personality in person, but Jerry made me feel right at home. I want to extend my condolences to the Bauer family. Jerry will be greatly missed.

I know Jerry through KPOF--listened to Jerry and Dan when driving home from work each day until I retired to Arkansas.  I now stream KPOF especially on Sunday mornings and was so sad to hear of his homegoing.  He will be missed.  Hugs to his family and co-workers!!! Remembering the 10 years that I worked beside Jerry at KPOF brings a smile to my face. We had a good time with our on-air banter and off-air commentaries. He taught me a lot about production and about Southern Gospel music.

Remembering Jerry Bauer is unforgettable.  The profession Jerry choose put his voice to be a larger than life frontrunner that worked, worshipped and lived in the Colorado community. God prepared Jerry's destiny at the radio station to help people via airwaves as a communicator with the ability to inspire others.   I came to many open house Sharathon's over the years and got to meet the staff and work Sharathon's helping support the radio's continued faithfulness.  Jerry had a God platform of creditability with his co-workers and friends to drastically inspire listeners with Christian music that met our everyday challenges.  Jerry's distinct voice blessed others with peace and tranquility.  AM91 is a partnering relationship with the invisible revitalizing listeners (like me) with wonderful music.  I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Rosemary Bauer family.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Jerry's sudden death. He, Dan and Gordie were so entertaining on the A-Team. It was always a pleasure to see him during Sharathon or some station event. I loved his enthusiasm for the Sat. evening Southern Gospel segment. He will be greatly missed!

We are so sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Jerry! He and Rosemary would visit my husband's elderly mother and became friends. We know he is happily with our Lord now. Our prayers are with Rosemary and their children! He will be missed!

I started listening to Jerry on KPOF when I first moved to Colorado back in 1987. I left Colorado for a short time in 2001 and returned in 2007. He was the first one I recognized when I turned on my radio. It has been a great Blessing to hear a familiar voice.

I will miss you tremendously and I always remember you saying I need to do this for my lovely or beautiful wife. I look up to you and thank you for being such a religious inspiration. Your home with God now and Rosemary and all of us will join one day.

I remember Jerry singing with Rose Mary at the Church of God Holiness.  I remember him singing to Esther before she passed.  I will be praying for Rose, Kevin, Mark & his family.

God graced us with Jerry's presence in our lives. I know Rose Mary, Kevin, Mark and the grandchildren, will carry forward his kindness and the missions he leaves behind. Jerry and Rose Mary contributed to my son's life and helped to form the strong Christian ethics he lives every today.

The Bauer family has meant so much to me since the 1960's in Kansas City, then when the family moved here to Denver & came to the Wheatridge Church of God Holiness. Was so happy to see Jerry & Rosemary get together. I had to listen to KPOF because Jerry was on there & wanted to support him. Was so happy to get to have time with him a few months ago at Mardels. I will so miss him. Rosemary & family you will be forever in my thoughts & prayers & know are Jesus will keep His arms around you holding yous close through these tough days. Love yous. I have been a long-time listener of KWBI and KPOF.  I will miss the voice of our friend Jerry and the abilities he brought to the ministry.  It is amazing how you can get to know someone when you listen to them on the radio so much.  Praise God that he is in the presence of His Lord.

After working beside you every day for almost 13 years, the hole I feel is tremendous.  You are with Jesus, and that makes the pain of missing you bearable, but still...  In constant prayer for Rosemary and the the rest of the family.  I'll see you soon, brother.  So-long. Not Goodbye.

My brother and I lived so far apart that we didn't get to be together much but when we were together we had a wonderful time singing, playing the piano and laughing about the past and present.  I am sitting at our Mother, Darlene Bauer's house now and she would like to say what a wonderful son Jerry was and she is really going to miss the talks they had.  We are still in shock that this has happened but we know Jerry is singing with the angels.  We want to say one last time that we love you, Jerry, and will see you again in Heaven.

I remember Jerry when he sang at Church of God in Holiness in Wheatridge Co. and what a beutiful voice he had.He is now singing in Heaven. The Lord needed him. Praying for you Rosemary and your sons.

Thank you for all the time spent babysitting me as a little one. I still have many memories of visiting the church/studio and the many friendly, smiling people who worked there.

Dearest Rosemary, Mark and Kevin, Jerry was a wonderful part of my life.  He was so much more than a co-worker, he became a friend. Of course he was my brother in Christ, and I will miss his, "Hi Sis" every morning.  I thank our Lord Jesus for allowing me to share a little of Jerry's life.  His home going has left a large space in my life.  I miss him already.

While we are comforted by the knowledge that Jerry is now home, but mourn the loss of a radio friend of many years. I have listened to Jerry since the days of KWBI, and will miss his humor and love for the Lord. Such a loss. We are remembering Jerry's family in prayer at this most difficult time of grief and shock.
