Harold Schlagel went to his heavenly home, to be with Jesus forever, on May 23, 2023 at age 86. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, his sister Virginia Labor, children Lana Taylor, Laurie Schlagel, Mark Schlagel (Ellen), grandchildren Nicholas Benigno, Nicole Benigno, David Schlagel (Katelyn), Matthew Schlagel, Rachel Schlagel, great-grandchildren Jacob Benigno, Corbin Benigno, Sawyer Benigno and Mark Schlagel.
Harold was born in Hygiene Colorado to Jacob and Hulda Wolf Schlagel. He attended Garden Place Elementary, Horace Man Junior High and East High School. Harold met Jeanette at First German Congregational Church and they were married on May 10, 1959. This past May, they celebrated their 64th anniversary.
Harold honorably served in Korea when he was drafted into the Army five months after being married. When he returned home, he worked for 42 years at Steel Incorporated until he retired at 65 years old.
Harold loved his family, church and friends. He served his church as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and a Trustee.
