Harold was born in Canton, Ohio, on June 23, 1938 to William and Catherine Kraus. He graduated from Middlebranch High School in 1956. He married Carol (née Dickson) Kraus on November 16, 1963, a romance which lasted 58 years.
A proud member of the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961, Harold was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal. After his military service, he worked for Penn Central railroad in Canton. In 1973, Harold and his family moved to Colorado, where he worked for Coors Brewing Company in Golden until 1994.
An avid athlete, he enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, and racing super-modified race cars. While at Coors, he was active in the ski club, softball, basketball, and golf leagues. Through these actives, he built strong friendships that carried on to the end of his life. Most importantly, Harold was a devoted Christian and raised his family to love the Lord. He lived everyday with Faith, Passion, Joy, Integrity, and Kindness.
Harold is survived by his beloved wife Carol; daughters and son in laws, Shelly and Steve Rohweder and Kimberly and Lee Majerus; brother Robert Kraus and sister Barbara Kraus Shankel. He dearly loved his three grandchildren, Kiefer Rohweder (Alex), Katie and Nicholas Majerus, and his great-granddaughter, Marlee Rohweder.
Harold will be truly missed, but his family is comforted knowing that Harold is in full health now at peace in his final home in heaven.
