Ferny Nahum Rojas Duran was taken away from us too soon and passed away at North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton, Colorado on Friday, December 3rd, 2021. He was born on September 30, 2003 to Fernando Duran and Rocio Rojas. Ferny attended schools in the metro area of Denver and only a few days before his death he received a license from the State of Colorado to be an asbestos removal professional. Prior to receiving his professional license for asbestos removal, he was employed by FedEx and was considered by all of his coworkers to be dedicated and a hard worker.
Ferny had an incredibly caring heart and would take time out of his day to feed the homeless, less fortunate and any person in need. Ferny loved his family and friends and brought a shining light of calm, positivity, laughter and smiles to the lives he touched. He was a loyal and loving son, grandson, nephew and brother. He loved family, laughing, joking around, snowmobiling, video games, saltwater fishing, the mountains, making others smile and any chance he could connect with his siblings.
Although Ferny was taken from the world too early, he had committed himself to be a devout Christian by faith and would want all that mourn him to carry on that tradition and to know that he is watching over all of us with love.
A visitation for Fernando will be held Monday, December 13, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, December 14, 2021, 2:00 PM followed by a graveside service at 3:00 PM, all services at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. A reception will follow at Savy Event Center, 4991 W. 80th Ave., Westminster, CO 80030.
