Elsie died on June 3, 2021 at the age of 92 in Denver, Co. She leaves behind her daughters: Yvonne A. King (Lisa Petitfils) and Yvette A. Arceneaux; grandchildren: Jeffrey and Adam King, Desiree Gehrke; Great grandchildren: Genevieve Artalejo and Samantha King, as well as a sister, Joyce P. Constance and a
brother, Paul J. Plaisance and a Louisiana family of loving nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Norman H. Arceneaux, her parents: Wallace P. Plaisance and Edith M. Landry, and her sister Lorraine P. Decker. Elsie was a caring, loving person. She was a New Orleanian through and through, never missing a Mardi Gras celebration. Being an avid learner all her life, Elsie
obtained her BA from the University of New Orleans at the age of 75.
Her family is grateful to Halcyon Hospice for the support and care provided to Elsie at her life’s end.
Donations may be made to Halcyon Hospice or Alzheimer’s
Association in Elsie’s memory in lieu of flowers.
Celebration of the lives of Elsie and Norman will be held
at a memorial mass at 11:00 am at St. Mary Nativity
Church on July 19, 2021.
Followed by Interment in the
adjacent cemetery at St. Mary Nativity Church, 3500
Highway 1, Raceland, Louisiana.
