Dorothy Louise Gillespie

Dorothy “Dottie” Louise Gillespie, 99 of Broomfield, CO passed away February 12, 2023. Born August 3, 1923 in Rural Michigan, Dorothy graduated from Grand Blanc High School and married her high school sweetheart William Gillespie on February 6, 1943, a marriage lasting 74 years. She was preceded in death by her husband William, daughter Carol, great granddaughter Kendra, and her brothers Paul and Clyde. She is survived by her children Richard (Donna) Gillespie, Janice (Dennis) Jones, David (Janesse) Gillespie, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. As a loving wife and mother, she dedicated her life to her home and family. Dorothy’s kind heart and giving nature led her to volunteering her time working with special needs children, something she loved and continued for 47 years.

A memorial service for Dorothy will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. A reception will occur Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. A graveside service will occur Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229.
