Dean Knoll passed away October 21, 2013. Memorial services will be held November 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM, at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 North Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado.
Dean was born May 11, 1929, at the family farm south of New Raymer, Colorado, to Ernest E & Jessie Pearl Summers Knoll. He grew up on the farm and attended school in New Raymer, graduating in 1947. He enrolled in Barnes Business College and moved to Denver. On June 24, 1948, he married Lovejoy Mercer in the Methodist Church in Greeley, Colorado. They worked that summer helping his dad with the harvest, then moved to Denver. Dean went to work at Western Weighing at Union Station downtown Denver. About a year later, he was hired as the Lakewood office manager for Joslins Department Store. This was beginning of a successful career with Joslins which spanned 43½ years. Dean retired November 13, 1992. His retirement was filled with family, travel, and activities he enjoyed.
Dean is survived by his wife, Lovejoy, their son Rex Knoll, their daughter Diana Lewis, their granddaughters, Amy Lewis and Jennifer Lickteig, four great grandchildren, his brother, Ralph Knoll and wife Nancy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donations may be made to the National Park Foundation in Dean's name.
