Carl was a 1962 graduate of Arvada High School. He married Barbara Ann Dodd on June 24, 1973 and settled in Northglenn, CO. Carl worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for Power Motive in Denver, CO. In his younger years, Carl enjoyed racing his burgundy 1957 Ford and even won some heat-races and trophy-dashes. He was a member of Green Mills Sportsman’s Club and was a superb marksman who enjoyed target shooting. He won the 1981 Colorado Muzzle Loaders Association championship, with his hand-made black powder rifle, against 285 other competitors. Carl was also a hobby enthusiast. He enjoyed model trains (member of the Denver Garden Railroad), fly tying, woodworking, RC cars and planes, building models, and many others.
Carl was a great man. While he may have had a tough exterior, he was a big teddy bear at heart.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; a sister, June Marie LaGuardia; his children, Jason (Tiffany) Wagner and Josh (Jannah) Wagner; and his grandchildren, Trevor, Avery, and Stylo; and one niece and nephews.
A small intimate service will be held at Olinger Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery-Highland in Thornton, CO on May 19, 2020 at 12:00pm. A celebration of Carl’s life will be held at a later date.
