Willa Margaret Bruce

Born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan on December 19, 1935 to William and Margaret (Madge) MacFarlane. Margaret passed away suddenly on May 19, 2022 in Toronto at the age of 86. Predeceased by her devoted husband of 65 years, Dr. W Robert (Bob) Bruce, and dearly missed by children Graham (Pam), Lynda (Stephen) and Kevin (Jennie). Beloved grandmother of Mahni, Joelan, Ruth, Ryden and Anaya and aunt to many adored nieces and nephews. Dear sister of Mary Ellen (Vince) Eriksson and Bill (Lynda) MacFarlane; predeceased by her sister Jocelyn and brother Barry.

Margaret studied Home Economics at the University of Saskatchewan, majoring in Dietetics. While in Saskatoon, she met the love of her life. She and Bob married in 1957 and their loving partnership continued until his recent death in January of this year.

Margaret had many enthusiasms. Her interest in the relationship between nutrition and health remained strong long after she stopped her work as a dietician. She volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society and Meals on Wheels. Margaret read widely and enjoyed playing the piano and singing; she passes on her love of reading, music and nature.

The family sends special thanks to Isabel, Vicky and Wilma, as well as the staff of Cummer Lodge, for their attentive and loving care over the past few years.
