With family at his side, Vincent passed away peacefully on January 31,2017 at Humber River Hospital. He was 93 and proud to be so. He leaves behind his loving wife Margarethe (Gretl) of 69 years and his son Anton (Mary), daughter Karin(Peter) and predeceased son Kimberly (Monica). He loved his grandchildren Cameron(Kristen), Andrea(Dave), Galen(Haneen), Annika, Kristin(Darryl), Miranda, Kyle(Claire), and Adam. He also enjoyed having six great grandchildren Ryan, Charlotte, Leighton, Nahla, Siena and Emerson.
After serving in the British army for five years during World War II, he met Margarethe in Austria at the end of the war. Married in 1947, they started life together in Wales where Vincent worked in the family Bakery business. In 1957, the family which now included three children joined the migration to Canada where the family established itself in Port Hope and grew and prospered. After the children had moved on to pursue studies and other interests, the family home was moved to Toronto.
Vincent throughout his life valued education for himself and his children. In his middle years, while providing for his family, he studied at night to attain his Technologist Certification. He completed his work life with SNC Lavalin.
