Marjorie Griffiths

Passed away peacefully at Cummer Lodge in North York on Wednesday April 1, 2015. Marjorie was predeceased by her first husband, Ron MacKinnon, and by her second husband, Leonard Griffiths. Marjorie was born in Manchester, England on December 26, 1920 to Frank Young and Marjorie Williams, and immigrated to Montreal in 1927. She was raised by her mother and the Bailey Family and lovingly referred to Bill Bailey as her brother and Eileen and Alice as her sisters. In her early years she was an accomplished ballerina performing lead roles with Saddlers Wells ballet in Montreal, in such productions as Brigadoon. Marjorie worked for over 24 years as a secretary at the Beaconsfield High School in Montreal before moving to Toronto in 1986 to marry Len Griffiths. Possessing an outgoing and gregarious nature, Marjorie was an active volunteer for many years at North York General Hospital and was also a dedicated member of the Blessed Trinity Church choir. The family would like to thanks the staffs at Gibson Retirement Residence and Cummer Lodge for their care and attention over the last few years. Close family and friends are welcome to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday April 6, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 3220 Bayview Avenue (North of Finch).
