Man Bing Wong

Man-Bing (Bing) Wong passed away peacefully on the 28th day of August, 2020. He was the dearly beloved husband of Lin-Hing (Nancy) Wong (nee-Leung) and much loved father to Winya Wong-Hanna and Winhan. Dear father in law to Michael and Lindsay. Cherished grandfather to Hailey, Kaleb, Pearse and Aisling.

Bing was born on the 4th of December, 1938 in Guangzhou, China. From there, at a young age, the family of six moved to Hong Kong. In 1967, Bing decided to take a leap of faith by leaving Hong Kong in search of a more prosperous future. As an adventurous and curious 29 year old, he boarded a commercial ship to Vancouver, Canada with nothing more than a steadfast work ethic and a reference letter from a former employer. The journey took over a month. Once he settled in Vancouver, his beloved Nancy followed. They were married on the 4th of September in 1968 and they enjoyed almost 52 years of companionship. With Nancy always by his side and his unwavering persistence, Bing was able to turn his dream to reality. In 2020, Bing celebrated his 53rd anniversary in Canada along with countless other memories along the way. He will be painfully missed by all of his family and friends in Canada, Hong Kong and various parts of the world.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, a short memorial service will be held at the cemetery for Bing at 2:00pm on Tuesday, September, 8th at Highland Memory Gardens located at 33 Memory Gardens Lane (just off of Don Mills Road, south of Steeles Avenue East). Please see the map below this obituary. A private family visitation will take place between 12:30-1:30 pm at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home before the service at the cemetery.
