Loretta Anne Oulahen

Loretta is predeceased by her husband Jim (March 2016), to whom she was married for 67 years. She is also predeceased by her parents Fred Hurley and Loretta Galvin of Peterborough, and her siblings Clotilde, Theresa and Kevin Hurley.

Loretta was the very proud mother of 6 children, Anne Patterson, Jim Jr. (Kathy), Martha Todd (Scott), Peter, Paul (Norah) and the late Fred Oulahen, as well as the loving grandmother of Stephen (Helen) Patterson, Heather (Alden) Drost, Mike (Julie) Oulahen, Jennifer (Will) Rolls, Ryan (Kendal) Oulahen, Keri Todd, Robert (Andie) Todd, Jeff (Barb) Oulahen, Sarah (Matt) Oulahen Turner and Mark (Lara) Oulahen. Loretta was also a proud great-grandmother of 22 great-grandchildren.

Loretta grew up on a family farm in Peterborough and had a short career as an X-ray Technician in Cobourg prior to her marriage to Jim and the birth of her 6 children in quick succession. Loretta devoted herself to her family throughout her life. She always had a keen interest in family news and updates, and had a sharp memory for details, right up to her last days. Loretta had a strong Catholic faith and trust in God’s plan for her. She imparted many words of wisdom to her family over the years and will be dearly missed.

Mom, you lived a very long life indeed! Rest in peace. We love you.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 23rd at St. Gabriel’s

Parish, 670 Sheppard Ave. E., North York. Interment to follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Newmarket, Ontario.
