With her daughter and son-in-law at her side she passed away peacefully on Monday, August 3, 2009 after a short, courageous battle with lymphoma at the age of 83. Her passing will be mourned by her daughter Charmaine, husband France Bosse, son Carl and brother Ernest Bower. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Sommerfeldt, parents Louis and Theresia Bower, sister and brother-in-law Joseph and Lorie Santolini and sister-in-law Karin Bower. She will be fondly remembered and missed by the many extended family members, friends and acquaintances. Friends may call on Friday, August 7, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at R.S. Kane Chapel. Interment Glendale Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North York General Hospital or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
