To The McNulty family, so sorry to read of Gordon's passing 8 years after the fact, such a distinguished man after leaving Saskatchewan, Gordon and my Grandfather Lewis Dalshaug would have been 1st cousins. May the memories last a lifetime for all.

Grieve as you must, but in those times of sorrow, remember all those special times you spent with him and that you had a chance to love and be loved by him. Aunt Pat: Uncle Gord was such a special man who kept his sense of humour until the end. Dad says that he was such a nice brother-in-law and I know that Mom felt the same way.       				GORDON PATRICK McNULTY

Gordon was born on a farm at Margo, Saskatchewan on January 6, 1920.  He was the fourth of seven children born to James and Gina McNulty. These were the days of the Great Depression so most of Gordon's life as a child and young adult, apart from school, entailed working on the farm along with his father and two brothers.

In 1939 WW11 was declared with Great Britain and Germany and soon after Canada became involved.  Gordon joined the R.C.A.F. on March 14, 1941.  He was sent to Ontario for his basic training at Guelph and Malton graduating at No.2 Bombing and Gunnery School as a Wireless Air Gunner (W.A.G.) at Jarvis, Ontario, June,1942.  He was sent to Toronto for further training at the R.C.A.F. Equipment Depot were he met his wife, Patricia, who was working as office staff.  Gordon married Patricia on April 11, 1942.  He was then sent to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia where he received his Sergeant rank, Oct. 1943.  He was commissioned to the rank of Pilot Officer, Apr. 29, 1944.  He was then attached to Squadron No.162 (Bomber Reconnaissance Squadron) and stationed in Reykjavik, Iceland where he was commissioned to the rank of Flying Officer, July, 1944.  His mission was with the Battle of the North Atlantic, protecting our waters from the German submarines and U-boats and guiding and protecting our naval ships.  His home bases were, back and forth, Iceland to Norway and the British Isles..  It was at this time during two severe encounters with the submerged submarines that he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.) in Aug. 1944, for honor, bravery and distinction in great devotion to duty, coolness and courage.  On Feb.15, 1945 he received his Operational Wings Honor of the R.C.A.F. and recommended to the rank of Flight Lieutenant.  Gordon was assigned for a spell to teaching in the schools, history of wars and the effects of wars eventually returning to civilian life.  He then trained as a Boilermaker-Welder with the C.N.R. where he spent 35 years before retirement at the age of 60.  

Gordon and Patricia raised three sons, Gary, James and Michael.  They were both devoted Christians, married in the Anglican Church and maintained a Christian home for their three sons, both being much involved in church duties.  However, Patricia, through her sister and husband and after a Seminar with Pastor Knowles, was baptized, with her mother, into the Seventh Day Adventist Church.  Gordon remained an Anglican until a Seminar with the Pollett Bros.drew him in another spiritual direction, being baptized May 27, 1978.  They joined Maranatha Church, which later joined with Toronto North Church, which became Immanuel Church.  Gordon became so spiritually involved that he served Immanuel Church as Head Elder for seven years.  When the new Immanuel Church was being built he, along with Pastor Potgeiter, worked days and nights together on the structure of the Church to make Immanuel what it is today.  

Gordon will be sadly missed by his wife, his three sons and their wives Michele, Jill and Debra, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his two sisters, Norma and Mavis and brother-in-law, Tom, nieces, nephews, the Immanuel Church family and many, many friends.

Uncle Gord, you are a great man, loving and kind. I always enjoyed time spent with you and always loved the dances that we have had together over the years at the family weddings. Love you, miss you, Denise

Gram, Papa was such an amazing, wonderful, inspiring man. We will all miss him so very much. We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Gordon McNulty. He lived to a "ripe old age" and was always ready to do what was right, from serving in WW II and in practising his faith. Hi Grandma, We are all so sorry to hear of Papa's passing. He was a great man who lived a wonderful life. We all must mourn him, then celebrate the glorious life he lived.
