Roger Crawford, 70, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Atrium Health High Point Medical Center.
Roger was born in High Point, February 24, 1954, a son of the late Johnie Crawford and Allie Mae Wright Crawford. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he worked at Miller Desk for 26 years and then retired Mickey Truck Body. Roger enjoyed watching football, basketball, and NASCAR in front of the fireplace! He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and was a member of Life Fellowship Church. Roger was preceded in death by his son, Roderick Crawford and his step-father, Lawrence Tucker.
Surviving are his wife Sherry Newsome Crawford; two children, Steven Gainey and Candice Dempski (Dennis); five grandchildren, Jamarr Oxendine, Keyona Gainey, Elijah Gainey, Dennis Blue, Jr. and Braylon Blue; a great-grandson, Chosen Oxendine; a sister, Annie Coleman; brothers, John Crawford (Marie), Ronald Crawford (Betty) and Donald Crawford (Marian) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Roger's life will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Sechrest-Davis Funeral Home Chapel by Bishop Steve Rich and Pastor Scott Christy. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m.
