PR was born on December 19, 1937 in Wilkes County, NC, a son to the late Paul Raymond Swain, Sr. and Hazel Dunlap Swain. He was of the Baptist faith and faithfully served his country in the United States Army. One of his greatest passions was buying and selling things. He enjoyed going to yard sales, auctions, and being a vendor at the flea market.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steve Swain.
Surviving are his significant other and caregiver, Opal Shuler of the home; children, Sandy Swain of Winston-Salem, Susan Pegram (Eddie) of Pfafftown, Shawn Swain of Winston-Salem, and Leroy Swain (Halie) of Albemarle; five grandchildren, Henry Williams, Jr., Alydia Swain, Richard Swain, Michael Swain, and Levi Swain; and great grandson, Damien Williams.
Visitation will be held from 12 pm until 1 pm Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Thomasville Funeral Home. A graveside service will immediately follow the visitation at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
