Sonny was born in Forsyth County, NC, October 13, 1945, a son of the late Raymond and Hazel Myers Burchett. He owned and operated Statewide Home Improvement Co. for many years prior to his retirement. Sonny was preceded in death by a brother, David Burchett. Sonny was an avid car enthusiast and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Pat Reeves Burchett; a daughter, Sandi Walker and husband Tim; a son, Jamie Burchett, Jr. and fiancé Chrissy; five grandchildren, Josh Walker and wife Emily, Justin Walker, Jordan Burchett, Haley Burchett and Michael Anders; two great-grandchildren, Dylan Walker and Madylan Walker; two sisters, Toby Reeves and Joy Ballard and husband Gene; two brothers, Jerry Burchett and Raymond “Red” Burchett and wife Lila.
A Celebration of Sonny’s Life will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Thomasville Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Jimmy Garrett.
