Our precious Mother, Iris Johnson Shaw, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. She was born July 26, 1929, to the late Jasper and Vera Johnson. On December 25, 1948, she married Von Shaw, who passed away in 1996.
Iris retired after 30 years from Erwin Lambeth and was a faithful member of Pilot View Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughter, Jill Shaw Smith of Thomasville; son, Kevin Shaw and wife Amy of Lebanon, TN; grandchildren, Amanda Baum, Isaac Shaw and wife Tatum, Ben Shaw and wife Riley; and great granddaughter, Eden Shaw.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Joy Shaw Baum and son-in-law, Barry Baum; sister, Helen Embler; and brothers, Von Johnson and Doyt Johnson.
A funeral service for Iris will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Pilot View Baptist Church, 7173 Prospect Church Rd, Thomasville, NC. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
