Rocco Joseph Cinelli of The Woodlands, Texas passed away at the age of 81 on July 20, 2011. Rocco was born in Wappinger Falls, New York on August 16, 1929 and lived there the majority of his life, he was one of five children.
Rocco, who was known by loved ones and friends as ‘Rocky’, loved sports as a young man and excelled at football and wrestling. Serving in the Korean Conflict he attained the rank of Corporal in the United States Army. He was a volunteer firefighter for the village of Wappinger Falls for many years. He took great pride in his business and the artistry he displayed in plasterwork. He was also both an excellent cook and avid gardener. In 1992 he retired from the Veterans' Administration Hospital at Castle Point, New York.
A kind, generous and outgoing person, Rocco never knew a stranger. An active member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church,The Woodlands,Texas. Rocco was lovingly married to his sweetheart AnnaRose Blasi of Poughkeepsie, New York for 57 years. He will be greatly missed by his wife, son, Rocco Stephen Cinelli, daughter, Sherri Carufe, son in law, Damion Carufe, three granddaughters, Meghan Rae and Tori Leigh Carufe, Anika Christina Berrios-Cinelli, as well as his surviving brother Carmelo Cinelli and wife Ingeborg and sister Clarena Cinelli Fox and husband Donald. (A loving pet owner – Rocco will also be greatly missed by his 2 cats.)
A Mass of Christian Burial is set for 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 23, 2011 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 7801 Bay Branch Drive, The Woodlands, Texas 77382. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm, Friday, July 22, 2011 in the Chapel at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home.
