He graduated from Edina High School and received a Bachelors Degree of Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota, a Masters Degree in Engineering Mechanics at Southern Methodist University, and graduated from the Navy Fighter Weapons School-TOPGUN.
Dick Married Diane (Dee) Speagh on 8/23/1969 (52 years of marriage) and raised two children, Edward and Luke. He loved his family very much. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and sons; coaching his sons' lacrosse team, and spending time with his four grandchildren.
Dick was a career aviator. He flew for the Marines as an F-4 Phantom pilot, and he flew commercially for North Central Airlines, Braniff Airlines, Leisure Air, and Polar Air Cargo. He also was a 757/767 simulator instructor pilot for American Airlines.
He had a passion for flying, fast cars (GTO, Porsche, and Corvettes), coin collecting trap and skeet shooting, dog training, wine, and most importantly his grandkids.
Richard is survived by his wife Diane Kremer, sons Edward John Kremer (wife Debbi) and Luke Robert Kremer (wife Nicki), his grandchildren Alexander, Abigail, Ronan, and Liam, and his brothers and sisters Nancy Phillips, John Kremer, Mark Kremer, Patty J. Kremer, and David Kremer.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking everyone to please donate to the MJF Parkinson’s foundation or to the Houston Area Parkinson’s society.
