Richard Scott Blackmore, Sr., 77, of Spring, Texas passed away May 6, 2011. He was born August 11, 1933 in Perryton, Texas to the late Carl Parker and Gladys Holland Blackmore. Richard is survived by his loving wife Sharon Wesson Blackmore , whom he married on March 29, 1959 in Dimmitt, Texas; daughter Julie Blackmore-Faust of Spring, Texas; sons Richard Scott Blackmore Jr. of Spring, Texas, Michael Clay Blackmore of Rockville, Maryland and Bobby Blackmore of Spring, Texas; sisters Peggy Ann Lasater of Denton, Texas, Carla Tankersley of Round Rock, Texas, Janelle Cochran of Perryton, Texas; brothers Ronnie Blackmore of Abilene, Texas, Rob Blackmore of Richmond, Virginia and Bill Blackmore of Goodwell, Oklahoma; along with nine grandchildren; and one great grandson
Richard attended Perryton schools and graduated from Texas Tech prior to two years serving in the United States Army. Most of Richard’s work history was in banking. He organized a small country bank in Shallowater, Texas when he was only 26 years old. He headed up banks in Seagraves, Texas; Portales, New Mexico; and Dallas, Texas. He came to Montgomery County as President of Montgomery County Bank in 1976 and opened and operated the Park Bar & Grill in The Woodlands in the mid 80’s.
Funeral Services are set for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in the Chapel at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery.
