Mary Anne Knight Powell, Age 79, passed away at her home on August 25, 2011.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, G.P. Powell, who passed away September 14, 2003. The had been married 53 years at the time of his death
She was born in Houston, Texas on January 27, 1932 to Joseph F. Knight and Blanche Osborne Knight. The family moved to Natchez, Mississippi to live on the homestead of her grandparents. When she was 10 years old her family returned to Houston where she attended local Catholic schools and graduated from Incarnate Word Academy in May of 1950.
She worked in the insurance industry for 30 years and returned in 1981. Over the years, she has known many good friends, but one in particular is Nancy Simmons of Montgomery, Texas. They had been friends since the 4th grade, remaining so all these years.
