Marta Maria Gamio

Marta Maria Gamio, born on July 29, 1937, in Havana, Cuba, peacefully passed away on November 9, 2024, in The Woodlands, Texas. Before joining our Lord and Savior, she was blessed to spend her last evening on this earth with her daughters, Betty and Amparo, her son-in-law, Osvaldo, her granddaughter, Jessica, and her great grandson, Nathan.

A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Marta was known for her vibrant spirit and the warmth she brought to everyone she met. She truly lived by the motto, “She never met a stranger,” making countless friends throughout her life.

Marta's greatest pride and joy were her family, including her two daughters, Zoila "Betty" Almirante and Amparo Beltran, and her six grandchildren: Yaneli Laine, Michelle Emery, Yumara Long, Jessica Mendoza, Michael Almirante, along with her fur grandbaby, Willy. She was also the cherished great-grandmother to Wesley Bolos, Lindsey Bolos, Robert Emery, Mark Laine, Nathan Mendoza, Thomas Emery, Ashley Long, Victoria Mendoza, Isabella Mendoza, and Michael Almirante Jr.

Preceded in death by her parents Lucrecia Riera and Enrique Bartutis and her sisters Caridad Figueroa and Ana Fernandez.

Survived by her brothers, Oscar and Carlos Compain, and all of her family mentioned above, she leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. Known for her radiant smile, infectious laughter, and loving heart, Marta had an uncanny ability to make people feel safe and comfortable in her presence. A devout Christian, she was deeply passionate about the St. Jude organization, consistently donating to support its mission.

Marta Maria Gamio will be remembered not only for her unwavering love for her family but also for the joy she brought to those around her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A memorial service for Marta will be held Friday, November 22, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384, followed by a reception from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
