Linda was the beloved daughter of Francis Casey Tippit and Walter Tippit. She was born in Houston, Texas on January 2, 1948. Over the years, she obtained several degrees and advanced degrees in business and real estate. She had a very successful career in land management in the oil and gas industry which lasted 50 years working for various leading companies in Houston. She retired at the age of 70 from the gas and oil industry but always “fancied” being a culinary chef utilizing her remarkable cooking skills.
As a member of Grace Crossing Community Church and Conroe Church of Christ, Linda served others on many missions and ministries for her Lord for many years. She was especially proud of following in the footsteps of Jesus in Israel. She was generous and kind as she served others patiently and often. Linda loved the beach, traveling, and taking cruises. She was an avid animal lover who never wanted to hit a “suicide” squirrel. In high school she demonstrated her musical talents playing the trumpet and drums. She loved a fancy “stacked” hair-do and cooking spaghetti for her family.
Linda is survived by her loving husband Lindell W. West, her sister Elizabeth Ann Sivley of Livingston, Texas, her brother Walter Ervin Tippit (Elizabeth) of Morgan’s Point, Texas, brother Peter Allen Tippit (Kathy Sue) of Livingston, Texas, and brother Paul Edward Tippit (Donna Sue) of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by her step-daughter Lydia Diane Smith (Gary) of College Station, Texas, her step-son Darren L. West (Patti) of Carrollton, Texas, and her spiritual family Rod and Diane Brady and their son Grant. Linda’s family also includes her 4 grandchildren, several adopted children and grandchildren, and a “tribe” of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Linda will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home in The Woodlands, Texas.
