Florence was born on September 4, 1939 in Des Plaines, Illinois, to her parents Harry Walsh and Olga Grimm Walsh. Florence was baptized and raised in the Lutheran Church. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School until her family moved to Arizona when she was age twelve. After a short time in Phoenix, the family moved to Kingman, Arizona where she attended Kingman High School.
While living in Arizona she met and married David Charles Cunningham Sr. after moving several times in the eight years he served in the Air Force, they settled in Houston, Texas. She was a homemaker for many years, raising their four children. She served as both a Cub Scout den mother and a Girl Scout leader.
Florence loved the Lord and her children, and saw to it that they were exposed to the faith in God that sustained her through the peaks and valleys of her life.
She worked many years for Kroger Corporation, first as a checker and eventually transferring to the courtesy booth until she retired. After retirement, she remained active for many years with her quilting guild club and in her weekly Bible Studies at church.
She loved reading, travel, sewing, and spending time with her family.
