Elmer Lueders Jackson (Jack), beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013 in The Woodlands, TX. He was born on October 10, 1926 in Prairie Lea, Texas to parents Carlisle and Julia Jackson.
Jack is predeceased by his brothers, Andrew, Harry Lee and GC. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jerry, and his two children and their families; daughter, Kathy Agee and her husband John, and their children, Dustin, John, Doug and Matt; son, Brian Jackson and his wife Laurie, and their children Joshua, Joseph, Julia and Jordan. His sister, Thelma Rader and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Jack joined the Navy after graduating from high school in Lockhart, Texas in 1944 and served in the Pacific during World War II. Following graduation from Texas A&M University in 1950 he served in the Army. He married Geraldine Ann Heinze (Jerry) in June, 1954. Jack retired from Transocean after many years of service in the accounting department. Prior to membership at The Woodlands United Methodist Church he was a member of Saint Matthews United Methodist Church in Houston.
A memorial service is to be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20th at The Woodlands United Methodist Church. Prior to the memorial service, the family will have gathered for a private interment service at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery where military honors will be rendered.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Woodlands UMC Foundation or Saint Matthews United Methodist Church.
