Cheryl Ann Simmons, age 75, of Spring, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family, as she had wished, on Friday, June 25, 2021. Cheryl was born on June 16, 1946 in North Carolina to John and Miriam Ferguson.
Cheryl graduated from barber school and went on to own her own barber shop, Cheryl's Barber Style Shop. She enjoyed her senior citizen customers and would often pick them up and bring them to her shop, sometimes even going to their homes.
She married George (Tommy) Thomas Simmons on April 8, 1964.
Cheryl had a love of reading biographies, especially about Elvis and Hollywood stars. She has read all Billy Graham books and enjoyed weekly editions of Star, National Enquirer, and Globe magazines. Cheryl was a loving, giving person and even spent time volunteering at women's shelters. Most of all, Cheryl enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren have said that you'd never leave Mawmaw's thirsty, hungry, or without a little money in your pocket, and whatever you do, don't say ya like something cuz you'd be leavin' with it!
Cheryl is survived by her children, Stacy Denise Christian, Shawn Katherine Simmons, and George (Tommy) Thomas Simmons Jr.; grandchildren, Colton Ray Smith, Thomas Blayne Christian, Coby Reese Smith, Baylee Lavert Christian, Jaycee Ann Marie Simmons, Reece Elizabeth Simmons, and George (Trace) Thomas Simmons III.; brothers, Carl and wife Doris Ferguson, and John and wife Mary Ferguson; sister, Beryl and husband Doug Lindsey; sister-in-law, Pam Ferguson.
