Carol Ann Herndon

Carol graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. Carol went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in music from Centenary College of Louisiana. She married David Allen Herndon III on January 23, 1960.

Carol was a member of the Junior League of North Houston and a member of the choir at the First United Methodist Church in Dallas, which was invited to sing in Japan. She was also a member of the Sicilian Singers in Houston. She had a passion for music, games, and her family.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, David, and brother, Paul DeShazo. She is survived by her son, David Herndon, and wife, Robin; and daughter, Laura Herndon Wendt, and husband, Bruce; grandchildren, Rachel and Sam Stell, Hillary and Ben Bastedo, Jennifer Herndon, Rebecca Herndon, Kathryn and Peyton Miller; brother, George DeShazo; cousin, Vicki Keel; brother-and-sister-in-law, Daniel and Lola Herndon; great grandchild, Mark Stell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Carol’s life will take place on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. Immediately following the service, friends are invited to greet the family during a reception in the event room.
