Amelia Marie Voss, born on April 11, 2019, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2022 at the age of three after a 14 month long battle with a rare brain cancer. She was surrounded by her parents, Jonathan and Jacqueline and her little sister, Audrey.
Amelia was a spunky, vivacious person with a big heart. She would live everyday to the fullest, and there was rarely a day that she did not have a smile on her face. She had a special bond with animals and her favorite companion was the family dog, Ramona. Amelia loved being outside and playing with other children. She was not shy, and through her kind, gentle nature would make friends easily.
Amelia had many interests, but her favorites were cooking in her play kitchen, swimming in the pool, going on walks to the park, having fun at the gym, driving her electric Mercedes, and above all, taking care of her little dolls. She would go everywhere with her doll and stroller. She made sure her dolls were tended to morning and night.
Amelia’s love for her sister, Audrey, was unmatched. When Audrey was born, Amelia gladly stepped into the role of big sister. She would patiently teach Audrey everything that she knew, and there was nothing Audrey wanted more than to be just like her big sister.
At 2.5 years old Amelia was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive, malignant brain tumor called ETMR. Over the course of 14 months she underwent five brain surgeries, multiple rounds of chemo, multiple trips to the ER with life-threatening infections, and then endured 30 rounds of radiation to her brain and spine. Her physical and mental strength far surpassed her years.
Amelia was known for being intelligent, and often surprised those who knew her with her knowledge (or clever tricks!). She was kind and inclusive, wanting nothing more than to make friends, go to school and play with other children.
Amelia is preceded in death by John Deavenport (PawPaw). Amelia is survived by her little sister, Audrey Voss, her parents, Jacqueline and Jonathan Voss, her grandparents, Deborah Deavenport (DeeDee), Bonnie Voss (Nana), Kevin Voss (Grandpa), and her fur sister, the family dog, Ramona.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to receive donations in Amelia’s name at Princess Nora’s Warrior Foundation, an organization that helps fund research for ETMR brain tumors (and much more) for children with cancer.
