John D Hulsey, Sr., 93, of Maud, TX passed away February 1, 2021 in a local hospital. Mr. Hulsey was born August 7, 1927 in Bassett, TX. He was a U. S. Army veteran. Loved his bee farms and working his bees. He also loved to fish, hunt, animals and all his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Millie Hulsey; one son, Joe Melvin Hulsey; and one daughter, Theresa Diane Hulsey.
Survivors include three sons, Billy Lee Hulsey of Maud, TX, Charles Ray Hulsey of Giddings, TX and John and Yovanny Hulsey of San Antonio, TX; and four daughters, Debbie and Cecil Mathis of Maud, TX, Frankie McCarver of Rogers, AR, Alice Matthews of Texarkana, AR and Kimberly and Ron Clements of Little Rock, AR; one brother Tom Hulsey of California; 19 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Friday, 2:00 P. M. at First Baptist Church of Maud, TX. officiated by Bro. Augustine Alaniz. Burial will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery in Maud.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 P.M. Friday at the church prior to the service.
Mr. Husley will also be available Thursday from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. at East Funeral Home-Downtown for viewing and signing register book for those who cannot attend service on Friday. The service will also be live streamed at www.facebook.com/eastfuneralhome.
Family will be Debbie and Cecil Mathis home in Maud, TX.
