My thoughts and prayers go out to John's family.  I met him while he was at Centerpoint High School in Glenwood, AR.  My daughter was a student of his.  I had the previlege of going with the band to some of the games and contests.  What a great person John was.  He loved the kids and they all loved him.  I know he help change the lives of many of them.  It was a blessing to have him as a friend and work with him.

John was a blessing to all of us who were lucky enough to have known him. Heaven has one more tenor singing in its choir today.

Mr. Huffman was a great teacher & friend. He will be missed. Thoughts & prayers to all friends & family.

John, you were the reason I got into this crazy thing called music. You were my band director, friend, and mentor. You showed me what passion about music could do to my life. Mr. Huffman was the Band Director while I was in high school. He help create some great memories that I will cherish forever.  He will be missed!

Mr. Huffman was my band director and my neighbor for several years, when he was in Glenwood Ar. He taught me how to appreciate music. He will be missed by everyone he taught. Wow, what a great man. Thought me how to play the sax in jr high, then marching band and flag line. He made school fun to go to. He will be missed so very much. Rest in peace and prayers are with his family.

It is strange how this man taught me in Jr. High as my music teacher and was a great band leader.  It is odd that we both went from GLenwood AR to living in Wake Village TX probably right around the corner from one another and not even knowing it.  He was a good man.  S. White

Mr.Huffman was my band director for several years in high school. He was a wonderful person. He was a great mentor and friend. I am so very sad to hear about him passing. My prayers are with his family.

Mr. Huffman was my band director my Jr and Sr years at Glenwood High School. I hadn't seen him since I graduated but I often thought of him. He is one of those teachers I will never forget. Thanks to him, I now have a love for Phantom of the Opera and many classical songs I would have never thought of enjoying before.

John was a brother and great friend to many, both in school and out of school. My times with him, both at SAU and as a band director are cherished memories that will not be forgotten. Too many stories to tell in this small space. Beth, Richard, and Caleb, know that John will be sorely missed. I hate that his time was so short, but the time God gave him, he gave it his all with a heart full of love.

When I heard about John my spirit sank.  John probably never knew what he meant to me and I am sure many others.  I haven't seen or spoken to him in some time but he has never been far from my mind.  In life you meet a few people that touch you so much they change you.  John was one of those special people in my life.  John was my SAU Band Tau Beta Sigma big brother.  He was amazing.  He will be greatly missed but not forgotten.  My thoughts are prayers are with his family and all of us that love him.

Beth and family ~ So sorry to hear of John's death. So many memories from our days at Rose Hill. May our Heavenly Father give you peace and comfort as only He can.

John and his family were very dear friends of mine, especailly the last year before I joined the Navy. Unfortunatly, military life became very complicated and I'd lost touch until just a couple of months ago and I found him and his sister, but was saddened to hear about the loss of their mother. Then I was even more deeply saddened by John's passing. All I can say is that I'm terribly sorry that i didn't keep in touch and that I will pray everyday for the comfort and safety of Beth and her family and I wish I could be there to give her a great big hug and tell her that everything will be all right. John, you were such an amazing person.  My memories of you at SAU are some of the best of my life, and I am so very honored that we were friends.  You made a young freshman feel welcome in a large choir, guided and supported me throughout my college career, and gave your friendship freely, especially at a time when I needed it the most.  I also remember your wicked sense of humor.  You made me laugh out loud....real belly laughs.  I have so many memories of you, and I will treasure them always. I love you.  Beth, my prayers are with you and your family.  I can't make the service, but I will be thinking of you.

I am sorry for your loss. I know you will miss him. He was a very talented man that had a contagious smile. I remember watching Purple Rain at your moms house with the gang, his outburst of song and most of all his use of "Grey Flannel" cologne. I know that sounds silly about the cologne but I will always remember him wearing it in our younger days. On occasion, I would smell someone who wore it and turn around to see if it was him. The last time I spoke to him was a few years ago when the old youth group tried to have a reunion. He called and talked for quiet a while. I will be not be able to attend the memorial but I will be thinking of you and the funny times I had with John....all good thoughts.

I am very sad to hear of the passing of John. I was in the band with him at SAU for several years and loved being around him. He was a gentle giant and loved his music, his band and his school. John, you have run the race and earned your reward. Enjoy your eternal rest and we will see each other again.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember John from Jr. High and High School band. He was a great guy. Always the life of the party. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

John was a student of mine at SAU during my first year as a college teacher. He was a good friend who helped me through many challenging days. I am very sad to hear of his untimely passing, and I extend my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I am sad to hear about John's passing.  He was a former co-worker at Tatum Music in Tyler.  It was always a pleasure to work with John and I will miss his humor and funny personality.  My prayers go out to his family!  I know him and his nephew were close!!
