Andy was born in Lima, Ohio on January 7, 1969 to Elaine A. Mason and the late Frederic H. Albridge of Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1988 where he excelled in cross country. Andy served his country as an Army SPC machinist assigned to the 1st Calvary out of Ft. Hood, Texas. He completed one tour in Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm.
After serving in the army, Andy worked for Nash Electric as a certified electrician in Texarkana, and later worked for International Paper. When his family relocated to Goosecreek, South Carolina, he was the maintenance supervisor for Lawson Company before returning to Texarkana in 2020.
Andy was an avid golfer and a diehard Steelers fan. He loved the Indy 500 and attending sprint car races, but his favorite thing in the world was duck hunting. He could make, build or repair anything he set his mind to doing. Andy never met a stranger and he was a gifted storyteller, the life of any gathering he attended.
Andy is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Audra (Stone) Albridge, sons William Young of Texarkana, Texas, and Paul (Shannon) Saunders of Meridianville, Alabama. He was a doting “Poppy” to grandsons Maverick and Wyatt Saunders. Andy is also survived by his mother, Elaine (Pohlabel) Mason of Lima, Ohio, his brother Joe (Tracy) Albridge of Charlotte, North Carolina, and sisters Carol (Dan) Downing of Uniontown, Ohio and Amy (Dave) Coughenour of Alger, Ohio as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at East Funeral Home at the downtown location in Texarkana on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at 2pm. Interment will be at Chapelwood Cemetery in Nash, Texas at a later date.
